SOAS Distinguished Research Professorships

SOAS University of London is pleased to announce the establishment of five new distinguished research professorships aimed at addressing the global challenges of our time, as framed by the Sustainable Development Goals.

These professorships are for senior academics and researchers in their field, who will help to drive SOAS’ unique contribution towards addressing the SDGs through the perspectives of the people of Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

We are looking for exceptional academics and researchers from across the globe who have extensive experience in attracting and managing large research grants, building high-impact research teams, and developing the next generation of researchers.

The establishment of these professorships follows on the adoption of SOAS’ new Strategic Plan which seeks to both reimagine our global partnerships and revitalise our research agenda.

Please apply online by submitting your Full CV with list of Publications and Grants and attach your Expression of interest statement. The call will remain open until all appointments have been made.

For an informal conversation about the role please contact Kanina Foss - kf15@soas.ac.uk to schedule a meeting with the Director, Adam Habib.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates from working class, first generation Higher Education, the Global South, Black, Asian or other minority ethnic and underrepresented groups. All appointment decisions will be made on merit, following a fair and competitive process.
