About the position

Situated within the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine, the Bond University Medical Program is comprised of two sequential degrees, the Bachelor of Medical Studies and the Doctor of Medicine. The program has full accreditation with the Australian Medical Council and places a strong emphasis on the quality of student experience. The Quality Indicators of Learning and Teaching (QILT) rankings have listed Bond University Medicine number 1 in Australia for student satisfaction with teaching quality, student support and skill development.

This position provides an ideal opportunity for an individual with capacity to promote a culture of excellence in medical education and research. 

With the leadership of senior academic staff, the successful candidate will contribute to development of curriculum resources, assessment items and delivery of content within the Practitioner Domain of the Medical Program. The major focus will be within the pre-clinical years (Bachelor of Medical Studies) component of the Medical Program but may also extend into the clinical component (MD) as required.

The successful candidate will be expected to work in partnership with the existing Clinical Practice Domain team and other Medical Program staff to coordinate teaching of clinical skills within the program and ensure continued development of curriculum in this area. They will also contribute to research and/or scholarship in relevant areas in collaboration with existing in the faculty.

About the person:

The successful candidate will have a qualification registered or eligible for registration with AHPRA.  A PhD qualification in a relevant field is desirable however exceptions to degree requirements may be made for individuals with extraordinary professional competence and industry or clinical skills and experience.

They will have a track record of effective teaching and a developing track record of relevant research/scholarship. High order communication skills and the ability to work in teams with academics from multiple disciplines is essential for success in this appointment.

The salary range for the position is $119 681 - $141 945 p.a. plus 10% superannuation and will be commensurate with skills and experience.
