Job description

The School of Natural and Built Environment (NBE) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Lecturer in Construction Project Management.

The successful candidate will deliver the MSc programmes in Construction & Project Management and Building Information Modelling Project Management within the school, and may be required to deliver CPM topics at undergraduate level. You will also play a key role in contributing to the continuous improvement of curriculum content, student employability and widening the overall student experience through interdisciplinary projects.

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individual with practical and research experience in Construction Project Management who is keen to develop our vibrant students by delivering innovative learning techniques relevant to a changing and competitive industry.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team that engage with culture, technology and space to generate new understandings of emerging forms of urbanism and building typologies.

The successful candidate must have and your CV/Cover letter should clearly demonstrate you have:

  • Hold or be about to obtain a PhD in a discipline relevant to Construction Project Management or BIM Project Management.
  • Hold a 2:1 degree or higher or equivalent in Project Management or Construction Management or Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years relevant experience in the construction industry as a project manager.
    OR;
  • Minimum of five years relevant experience in academia, practice, research or education in one or more of the following areas:
    • Project Management, Planning and Control – candidate will be expected to be able to cover: construction programme scheduling, programme development and associated computer tools; site logistics, design management, value and risk management, supply chain management, quality and health and safety management.
    • Legal and contractual framework for procurement and construction project management.
