About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to provide technical knowledge and expertise in health economics, health econometrics, biostatistics, epidemiology or a related area. Working as part of a health economics team at the Central Clinical School in the Faculty of Medicine and Health.

Our Postdoctoral Research Associate will work across several programs and will primarily conduct health economic analysis, including cost-effectiveness analysis, in collaboration with Chief Investigators and senior Health Economists. They will support trial researchers develop health costings case report forms in order to collect information about healthcare utilisation, including direct and indirect costs. Whilst further, managing quality control of data collection, to then report information from the research undertaken in various formats such as reports, conference presentations and journal articles.

About you

  • a PhD degree (or equivalent) in a quantitative discipline such as health economics, health econometrics, biostatistics, economics, epidemiology, finance or a similar field
  • experience performing health economic analyses, including cost-effectiveness analyses using clinical trial data and/or Markov modelling
  • a proven ability to design and undertake quantitative data collection and analysis, especially panel data methods, survival analysis, time-series and forecasting analysis
  • experience using a statistical program to perform economic analysis (e.g. SAS, STATA, TreeAge)
  • demonstratable experience managing quality control of data collection including data cleaning of multiple and large datasets

The successful incumbent will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Good organisation and prioritisation skills are vital to ensure management of a varied workload encompassed with the ability to work well independently.
