Affiliated UCRH partners include Western Sydney University, University of Wollongong, Southern Cross University and the Northern NSW Local Health District. The Centre delivers a high quality, distinctive and supportive education and student placement program for medical, allied health, dental and nursing students from multiple Universities designed to build an effective health workforce, committed to the needs of rural communities throughout Australia. Medical education is jointly delivered through the North Coast Medical Education Collaboration (NCMEC). The UCRH conducts a vibrant research program focusing on the health care needs of rural populations around Australia while building research leadership and research capacity within the Northern Rivers region, with particular expertise in Indigenous health, including a Centre of Research Excellence in Indigenous Health. The UCRH is located adjacent to Lismore Base Hospital and oversees research programs and student placements across rural and remote parts of Northern NSW.
