Job Title: Project Administrator (INTERREG)
Location: Paisley Campus
Ref: REQ001316
Salary: £24,174 - £28,756 pro rata
Fixed Term: 12 months
Part time: 28 hours per week

University of the West of Scotland is a leading edge modern University at an exciting stage of development. As part of our ongoing investment in people, we are looking for engaged and talented individuals to make a real impact on the local, national and international communities we serve.

A Project Administrator post has been funded under the European Union’s INTERREG VA Programme for a pioneering cross-border research project, designed to better understand and alleviate the impact of Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease (COPD).

‘BREATH’ (Border and Regions Airways Training Hub)
The BREATH project involves a strong cross-border partnership between the Institute of Biomedical & Environmental Health Research (University of the West of Scotland; UWS), the Smooth Muscle Research Centre (Dundalk Institute of Technology; DkIT) and the School of Pharmacy and School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences (Queen’s University Belfast; QUB). It has established a world-class cluster of researchers, involving collaborations between scientists and clinicians that is helping address the causes, treatment and potential prevention of COPD.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join an internationally recognised group in the Institute of Biomedical and Environmental Health Research (IBEHR) within the School of Health & Life Sciences.

Applications are invited from candidates educated to at least HND level.  The successful candidate will organise and deliver a full administrative service to the Project at UWS, supporting the Project Team and PhD students. This will include the scheduling and support of project events, the handling of sensitive and confidential information; provision and analysis of statistical data, as well as financial administration of the Project budget.

Applicants should detail their suitability for this post in the ‘Additional information in support of your application’ section on the on-line application system.

The post is for a fixed period of 12 months. The 0.8 FTE structure is flexible and will be agreed with the successful candidate.
