About us

Ranked by the Guardian University League Table 2022 as the top nursing school in London and one of the top 5 in the country, Kingston University’s School of Nursing is an exceptional place in which to further your career. With a reputation for delivering sector-leading teaching and research, we are now on an exciting path of growth and transformation as we embark on the next stage in our development. As such, we are looking for a dynamic, innovative and strategically minded Deputy Head of School to help us build on our reputation and achieve our bold ambitions. In turn, you will find an unparalleled opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team who are committed to educating and developing the skills of tomorrow’s Nurses.

About your role

The role is a great opportunity to make your mark on the future of the school, and to develop your leadership skills with the backing of a supportive team. We are immensely proud of what has already been achieved within the school and what is to come, and as such, we are currently undergoing an exciting period of change in the faculty. With your support, we will make this a seamless transition, and go on to deliver an even better education to our students.

Specifically, you will lead on the management of our pre-registration nursing programmes from recruitment through to graduation, making sure that our quality standards, regulations and contract targets are met. As a key member of our leadership team, you will make a vital contribution to our wider strategies and the overall growth of our programmes.

On top of this, you’ll oversee our course planning, resourcing and student experience, chair course committees and work with our marketing teams to effectively promote our courses.

About your experience

Your natural leadership skills will be underpinned by significant nursing experience, with a relevant PhD and a thorough understanding of nursing on a national and international level.

Working closely with our Head of School to develop our curriculum and provide a clear vision for the future, we will expect you to have a strong background in academic leadership and developing educational programmes within a higher education setting. You will also be a motivated and inspirational individual who can use resources effectively. With a good track record in research, you will bring a flexible approach to all that you do, and you will have fantastic communication skills.

We have a dedicated Consultant working in partnership with us on this opportunity. If you would like to arrange an informal chat before considering applying please click Apply.
