To ensure the Construction and Project Management (CPM) programs are at the forefront of the digital era, our academics will be required to lead by example as enablers for others to apply these technologies and processes throughout the teaching and learning experience in the CPM programs.

About the Role

This teaching and research position is responsible for the development, delivery, and coordination of courses within STEM’s undergraduate, honours and postgraduate programs and for contributing to STEM’s research agenda in the fields of project management, construction management, construction technology, and digital technologies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the development of engaging, relevant and technology-enhanced curricula for teaching and programs
  • Deliver high quality teaching that incorporates scholarship and professional expertise and utilises the necessary digital techniques required for effective curriculum
  • Work collaboratively with staff in STEM and industry partners to ensure that programs contain content and quality that represents contemporary practice and theory
  • Contribute to research and scholarly activity by undertaking research in a relevant area that demonstrates impact and is disseminated through high quality, relevant and appropriate channels
  • Contribute to research activity through success in national competitive grants and/or obtaining government and/or industry funding
  • Supervise / co-supervise major honours or postgraduate research projects as required

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A doctoral qualification in the field of project management, construction management or construction technology with wide interest and demonstrated competence in technologies such as building information modelling, collaborative and virtual project teams, or integrated simulation risk analysis
  • Demonstrated record of the development and delivery of high quality teaching and learning experiences in at least two of the fields of project management, project risk, operations and safety, construction management or construction technology, and relevant digital technologies in a range of settings and student experience levels
  • An established early research record including demonstrated success in conference and high impact journal publications in fields relevant to this role
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and engage with a diverse range of relevant stakeholders
