The Directorate of Information and Library Services (ILS) at the University of Greenwich is seeking to appoint a Network Officer with some working knowledge and hands on experience in maintaining and supporting large multi-campus Voice and Data network infrastructure.

The post contributes to the efficient and effective functioning of the University’s information system facilities, being part of the team with responsibility for the effective operation of the communications infrastructure which underpins all IT systems and services within the University.

Under the guidance and supervision of the Network Operations Team Leader, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on complex problems and form part of multidisciplinary teams on projects both large and small. As a part of the network team, the network officer will work closely with the network analysts to implement, support and maintain a variety of networking devices and services.

The post holder will have excellent communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to work pro-actively and assist the team in providing solutions and options to problems as well as to spot trends and suggest process improvements. Formal and informal training will be provided to support the candidate in both personal and professional development.

Some work out of normal office hours will be required.

The post will be based at the outstanding World Heritage Site of the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich.
