DMU is an ambitious, globally minded and culturally rich university with a strong commitment to the public good. We strive to maintain a stimulating and inclusive environment that champions difference and celebrates success.

We’re asking ourselves some fundamental but hugely important and far-reaching questions at DMU, such as, what will be the education of the future that we want to provide? Who are our students, and how do we genuinely remove barriers to study?

As our Pro Vice-Chancellor Education, you will provide proactive leadership for the development and delivery of the teaching and learning portfolio across our university. Committed to collaboration and consultation, you will work to transform teaching practises across the institution and inspire a culture of innovation and focused excellence in curriculum design and delivery.

You will be able to build strong and purposeful relationships with partners and potential partners and play a key strategic role in enhancing UK partnership working for the organisation. In addition to leading on the promotion and development of the organisation’s apprenticeship portfolio, you will line-manage staff aligned with the newly developed Centre for Academic Innovation in Teaching and Education (CAITE), the Associate PVC Education and other aligned roles.

With academic credibility and standing within your own discipline, you will be able to demonstrate your contribution to the improvement of teaching quality and innovation leading to a positive outcome on institutional performance and metrics.

You will have substantial experience in developing and managing apprenticeships or similar work-related programmes, and experience of apprenticeship legislative bodies such as the ESFA and Ofsted.

As someone who thrives on team work and a collaborative approach, you’ll have ambitions to transform our methods of teaching delivery, including the development of leading digital innovations that are student-centred, facilitating flexibility of study mode, intensity and duration.
