The Role

We are currently seeking academics who specialise in Forensic Accounting, Auditing and Data Analytics to join our growing Department within the Macquarie Business School.

Successful applicants will be expected to make a strong contribution to research and teach across undergraduate and postgraduate level courses within auditing, forensic accounting and data analytics fields, provide leadership and coordinate units, supervise research students and make a positive contribution to the reputation of the Department, School and University.

Candidates will be expected to engage with industry and professional accounting bodies, and play an active role in development and curriculum innovation.

About You

You will bring a wealth of academic and industry knowledge combined with relevant post-graduate accounting qualifications and professional memberships.

Your high-quality research record in areas of auditing or forensic accounting or data analytics is fundamental to the role. You will have a proven ability to present to a range of stakeholders, along with demonstrating a collaborative approach in the way you work with others.

If you have excellent communication skills with a proactive approach you will undoubtedly flourish in this role.

  • A PhD (or near completion of a PhD) in accounting or a related field;
  • Potential to develop a record of published research in accounting or a related field;
  • A research agenda which provides scope for attracting funds from external funding bodies;
  • Engagement, or a plan for engagement, with the wider community in order to further enhance teaching and or research outcomes;
  • Evidence of an interest to develop skills in teaching in auditing or forensic accounting or data analytics;
  • An ability to develop new approaches to teaching in accounting including online and digital approaches to the delivery of coursework programs;
  • An ability and enthusiasm to work as a team player in the delivery of administrative tasks related to the work of the Department.
