Job Description

The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking a Research Assistant to add to their team of Microfabrication Core Facility. The facility provides micro/nanofabrication services and domain consulting to the institute's researchers and external customers.

The role will primarily focus on-design and development of the micro-environmental platform for mechanobiology applications, which will encompass the following responsibilities:

  • To analyse research projects and their design feasibility with respect to in-house capabilities
  • To provide wafer fabrication services based at cleanroom 
  • To conduct risk assessments and formulate SOPs 
  • To impart training to in-house researchers during the start of their projects
  • To support procurement, maintenance and housekeeping

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in microfabrication methods and tools such as photolithography (positive and negative tone photoresist), photomask design using L-EDIT or equivalent software, photomask fabrication using Laser Writer system, PDMS based soft lithography, Charateziation using SEM and contact profiler etc. in a cleanroom based environment, preferably in an R&D setting
  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering field or equivalent
  • A strong drive to learn and pick up the new skillset
  • Able to work in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Analytical and resourceful with a friendly approach towards users
