About the School of Law and Society
The School of Law and Society will be recognised locally, nationally and internationally for education, research and collaboration that brings positive social change. We offer a range of programs including Counselling, Human Services, Law, Social Work, Criminology & Justice and Arts. The School is also focused on producing high-quality and impactful research and is home to the USC Road Accident Research Collaboration, Sexual Violence Research and Prevention Unit (SVRPU), and the Sustainability Research Centre (SRC).

About the position
USC is seeking to appoint two Lecturers/Senior Lecturers in Social Work to provide a personal, inspiring and rigorous learning environment that empowers our graduates to be career and future ready and make a significant contribution to their communities.

About you

  • Completion or near-completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing.  Eligibility for registration with the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW).
  • Proven track record as an effective teacher, the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching.
  • Sound and established track record of research activity commensurate with the level of the position
  • Relevant professional experience in counselling or a related field
  • Membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies and community groups 
  • Sound leadership contributions and personal qualities that influence the development and maintenance of a positive academic environment (level C)
  • Participation and success in academic administrative functions e.g. program coordination, within a University (level C)
