About the Job

Nursing is rapidly developing in the innovative and progressive environment of Swinburne University, as a result we are seeking to enhance the talent and capability of the discipline with a lecturer who can bring innovation and energy to our teaching and research activities.

Located in the Discipline of Nursing within the Department of Nursing and Allied Health, as the Lecturer, you will contribute to the development and review of the nursing course using: blended models of unit delivery; participate in the administration and ongoing curriculum development of courses offered by the Discipline; and progress an active research profile aligned to the strategic direction of the School.

With a passion to lead, innovate and embrace diversity to enrich the opportunities of colleagues and students in the delivery of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses within the Discipline. You will carry out educational and curriculum development of both online and on campus learning materials and assessments. In addition, you will facilitate the overall coordination of units, including teaching and marking assessments.

It is expected, you will contribute to research activities in the School of Health Sciences aligned to the strategic priorities of the University and in collaboration with the Research Institutes within Swinburne University.

Within this position, you will contribute as a member of both discipline-based and interdisciplinary teams in order to progress the University’s Horizon 2025 strategic priorities. You will be expected to carry out appropriate activities that will maintain and develop scholarly, research and/or professional expertise.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Doctorate or Masters qualification in Nursing or related discipline
  • NMBA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Currency of professional clinical experience in relevant, defined area
  • Understanding of trends and issues associated with nursing education
