The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Program in the Computer, Electrical, and Mathematical Sciences and Engineering (CEMSE) Division at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) invites applications for faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors), with a preference for candidates at the Assistant Professor level. Candidates applying for a position of Assistant Professor should have an excellent potential for high-impact research. Candidates applying for Associate and Full Professor positions should have a distinguished track record in research and a strong commitment to service and teaching at the graduate level.

We seek candidates in all fields pertaining to Electrical and Computer Engineering. Applicants with a focus on interdisciplinary research, in particular on the interface of KAUST strategic initiatives including artificial intelligence, climate, environment, energy and smart health, are particularly welcomed. Examples of such areas, include, but are not limited to:

  • Smart grid technologies, energy storage systems, high efficiency alternative and renewable energy technologies, to assure secure access to energy resources, while addressing climate change concerns.
  • Mobile and personalized biomedical technologies, signal processing algorithms and sensors that advance a holistic paradigm of human wellness.
  • Communication and computing technologies including high-speed communication systems, Information coding and cryptography.
  • Connected and automated mobility systems and assistive technologies to enhance safety, efficiency, and accessibility, in modern smart cities.
  • Next generation smart materials, devices and platforms including but not limited to, system and algorithm development, flexible and wearable electronics, emerging device platforms, and photonic based devices and circuits.
  • Machine learning, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity
  • Robotics and their applications in numerous fields including but not limited to underwater exploration, soft robotics, manufacturing, agriculture, health care among others.
