Professor in Finance

Job Description

You will represent the field of Finance in research and teaching and actively participate in academic leadership. We expect you to collaborate actively with the members of the faculty and other disciplines within the university, and to contribute to external fundraising.

We are looking for a person whose activities are clearly aligned with the teaching and research areas (i.e., Finance and Economics) of the Faculty. In addition, we would like to see the willingness to actively participate in interdisciplinary projects related to the research priority areas and potential areas of the University. You will teach finance and economics courses in the faculty’s Bachelor, Master and PhD programs. We expect good didactical and teaching skills as well as the ability and willingness to offer advanced or executive courses and introductory course on new finance topics in English or Mandarin. Experience in acquiring third-party funding as well as in academic self-administration is expected.

Job Qualifications

  • At Professor or equivalent academic title, or meet all the following conditions:
  • Holder of a Doctoral degree in Financial Economics, Finance, Economics or related field from an accredited institution and an Associate Professor or equivalent academic title;
  • Viable candidates must have a proven and excellent record of high quality publications, research grants and an active research agenda in related field(s);
  • Excellent researcher with a proven track record with international as well as interdisciplinary networks.
  • Excellent teaching experience, teaching effectiveness and students’ feedback;
  • Evidence of supervising doctoral students independently to completion;
  • Expert in academic field with strong capacity in academic leadership, new field of scientific research and organization of research team;
  • Excellent command of English and Mandarin with the ability to communicate and present clearly and succinctly;
  • Preference will be given to Macau residents under the same condition.

Associate Professor in Finance

Job Description

Candidates are expected to contribute significantly to the faculty program and research development, successful candidates will be responsible in duties includes: (i) teaching; (ii) supervision and coordination of student’s professional practice and dissertations; and facilitate research activity and exchange relevant to the program. This position involves teaching undergraduate, masters, and doctoral courses in economics and/or finance.

Job Qualifications

  • At Associate Professor or equivalent academic title, or meet all the following conditions:
  • Holder of a Doctoral degree in Financial Economics, Finance, Economics or related field from an accredited institution and an Assistant Professor or equivalent academic title;
  • Viable candidates must have a proven record of high quality publications, research grants and an active research agenda in related field(s);
  • Excellent teaching experience, teaching effectiveness and students’ feedback;
  • Evidence of supervising doctoral students to completion independently;
  • Expert in academic field with strong capacity in academic leadership, new field of scientific research and organization of research team;
  • Excellent command of English and Mandarin with the ability to communicate and present clearly and succinctly;
  • Preference will be given to Macau residents under the same condition.

Assistant Professor in Finance

Job Description

Candidates will be able to teach one or two fields in finance, such as corporate finance, investment, international finance, risk management or financial markets. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong quantitative training, and who can teach a wide variety of classes in theoretical and empirical finance. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach Fixed Income Securities, Mergers & Acquisitions, Behavioral Finance, Lease Finance, Green Finance, FinTech, and/or Insurance.

Job Qualifications

  • All candidates should have a Ph.D. in Finance or a related discipline or should be expected to have a Ph.D. degree by August 2022 and show evidence of promising research ability.
  • Successful candidates are expected to be committed to excellence in undergraduate or postgraduate teaching. and undertake independent research leading to outstanding outcomes, including publications in high quality international-refereed journals.
  • Good command of written and spoken English, and Mandarin is required.
  • Preference will be given to Macau residents under the same condition.

Assistant Professor in Economics

Job Description

Candidates will be able to teach one or two fields in economics (including econometrics). We are particularly interested in candidates with strong quantitative training, and who can teach a wide variety of classes in theoretical and empirical economics. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach Game theory, Labour Economics, Industrial Economics, Development Economics, History of Economic Thought, and Contemporary Economy of China.

Job Qualifications

  • All candidates should have a Ph.D. in Economics or should be expected to have a Ph.D. degree by August 2022 and show evidence of a good record of research publications.
  • Successful candidates are expected to be committed to excellence in undergraduate or postgraduate teaching, undertake independent research leading to outstanding outcomes, including publications in high quality international-refereed journals and contribute significantly to the development of the Faculty of Finance.
  • Good command of written and spoken English, and Mandarin is required.
  • Preference will be given to Macau residents under the same condition.

Remuneration

The remuneration and appointment rank offered will be competitive and commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualifications, current position and professional experience. The compensation/benefits are completive. The current local maximum income tax rate in Macao is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
