• Professor in Applied Psychology

Job Description

Candidates are expected to lead and contribute significantly to the faculty program development, successful candidates will be responsible for duties including: (i) leading the research and teaching strategies of Applied psychology; (ii) conducting research projects and publishing in the expertise fields; (iii) leading and developing research publications with academics in the faculty; (iv) teaching psychology courses; (v) supervision and coordination of student’s professional practice and dissertations/theses in the relevant fields.

We are looking for leading academics with at least two areas of the following aspects of Applied psychology, including:

Clinical psychology; Clinical health psychology; Educational psychology; Clinical child psychology; Environmental psychology; Psychoanalysis and Chinese cultures.

Job Qualifications

• A PhD degree in the area of Psychology;
• Viable candidates must have an outstanding and sustained record of internationally recognized research publications, research grants and an active research agenda in related field(s);
• Excellent teaching experience in higher education, teaching effectiveness evidenced in students’ feedback;
• Evidence of supervising doctoral students independently to completion;
• Ability to communicate competently in English and Chinese;
• Macau residents will be particularly considered in selection.

Remuneration

The remuneration and appointment rank offered will be competitive and commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualifications, current position and professional experience. The compensation/benefits are competitive. The current local maximum income tax rate in Macao is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
