Inspire a new generation of innovative entrepreneurs and leaders

There are few better places to launch an influential, long-term career. This is your chance to develop future-defining expertise at the cutting edge of contemporary business thinking. Working at the heart of a thriving academic community with a worldwide reputation, you’ll have every opportunity to progress your professional profile and research interests. At the same time you’ll be shaping the next generation.

Southampton Business School at the University of Southampton is one of the UK’s top business schools. With a truly distinctive multidisciplinary approach, we educate ambitious leaders who want to change the world. Our world-class, cutting-edge research shapes future business practices and solves problems for businesses, organisations and governments. We have links with many of the world’s leading companies. And we bring together experts from a diverse range of business fields through an integrated enterprise strategy that reinforces connections with industry.

As a lecturer/teaching fellow, you will play a central role in furthering the research of the Strategy, Innovation and Risk department. You will also teach at an undergraduate and postgraduate level, and act as a leader and ambassador for us across management and engagement activities. Whether developing your own teaching approaches, acting as supervisor to your students or contributing to the effective administration of our department, you will enjoy scope to innovate and make a significant impact.

You will bring to the role a strong professional reputation, including publications in a 3* or higher ABS journal. Experience of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels is essential, as is your ability to engage and inspire students and colleagues alike. An innovative and original thinker, you will have a flair for building relationships and helping shape successful academic departments.

The Department of Strategy, Innovation and Enterprise (DSIE) offers an inclusive platform for interdisciplinary and impactful research and teaching in the following subject areas: social and sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation, corporate social responsibility, family business, SMEs growth and international entrepreneurship, academic entrepreneurship, digital ecosystems, innovation management, the strategy process, and the theoretical foundations of entrepreneurship and strategy research. DSIE has a vibrant community of doctoral researchers and a thriving undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) educational portfolio, which builds on the research strengths and interests of its staff.
