About the Job

Swinburne is embarking on an exciting journey, working towards our new vision of bringing people and technology together to build a better world. As the Safer Community Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for initial inquiries and intake, triage, assessment, and investigation of problem behaviour resulting from Safer Community referrals.

In this role you will support the ongoing development and operation of the Safer Community Team and play a key role in investigating, managing, and undertaking prevention initiatives to raise awareness of inappropriate, concerning or threatening behaviours.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications and relevant experience in areas of psychology, social work, legal or related disciplines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including managing persons in crisis
  • Demonstrated skills experience in working with a multidisciplinary team
  • Highly-developed report-writing and presentation skills and proven ability to communicate effectively to a broad range of individuals and groups from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds
