Tasks: The focus is on developing new 2D materials based on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). 2D materials are considered to be promising materials for numerous applications in microelectronics and energy research. Ultrathin metal-organic layers are supposed to be synthesized, characterized and tested for applications in catalysis. The characterization includes adsorption methods, solid-state NMR (in cooperation), diffraction as well as microscopy methods. Further objectives are: increasing the catalytic activity and selectivity of the catalysts as well as fundamental understanding of surface reactivity. Multiple possibilities for cooperations in an interdisciplinary environment of the TU Dresden in the highly topical field of 2D materials will arise as the work will be carried out in the context of the CRC 1415.

Requirements: very good university degree in chemistry; knowledge in the field of inorganic chemistry; knowledge of synthesis of metal-organic frameworks; knowledge in the field of adsorption as well as of the above mentioned physical-chemical characterization methods, high self-motivation; interest in learning new characterization methods; a good command of written and spoken English; PC skills. The capability of teamwork and organizational talent complete your profile.
