About the role

The Faculty of Health provides an exciting and innovative learning environment working with individuals, families and communities in order to meet their health needs and requirements. The Faculty is distinctive for its multidisciplinary understanding of client care, commitment to the prevention of disease and promotion of healthy lifestyles and working with Indigenous colleagues to develop culturally appropriate models of care. The Faculty offers fields of study across a broad range of health-related professions including nursing,midwifery, social work, community welfare, biomedical science, clinical exercise physiology, diabetes education and management, naturopathic medicine, occupational therapy, osteopathy, pedorthics, podiatry, psychology, speech pathology, and sport and exercise science.

Southern Cross University is inviting applications for the opportunity to join our successful team teaching into one of Australia’s leading psychology programs (Good University’s Guide 2020 and QILT 2019). The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Psychology role will undertake student centred teaching practice and contribute to the research and/or scholarship of teaching profile of the Faculty.

The position will contribute primarily to the new Masters of Professional Psychology commencing in 2022.

It is intended that the position will initially fulfil a defined role:

  • Course Coordinator of the Masters of Professional Psychology – responsible for the leadership and administration of the Masters of Professional Psychology program.

Associate Professor – A remuneration package of up to $191,476 per annum is offered for an Associate Professor appointment, inclusive of base salary $148,746-$163,655 per annum and 17% employer contribution to superannuation. 

Senior Lecturer – A remuneration package of up to $166,761 per annum is offered for a Senior Lecturer appointment, inclusive of base salary $123,900-$142,531 per annum and 17% employer contribution to superannuation. 

Lecturer – A remuneration package of up to $140,609 per annum is offered for a Senior Lecturer appointment, inclusive of base salary $101,544-$120,179 per annum and 17% employer contribution to superannuation. 

About you

Applications are invited from Psychology academics with demonstrated excellence in teaching Psychology or related topics in a university setting. You will have a genuine passion for maximising graduate outcomes and enhancing the success of our programs.

In addition,you will possess a track record in research or teaching scholarship relevant to level and academic profile. It is desirable but not essential that your track record includes publications in highly ranked journals, and supervision of honours/higher degree research candidates.

Applicants must hold current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Psychologist. Completion of the Psychology Board Approved Supervisor training is desirable.
