About the role

Joining the STEM College, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the teaching and research efforts of the School of Engineering within the Aerospace Engineering and Aviation disciplines. The role requires expertise in one or more of the following areas: digital twin technologies, computational modelling and simulation, flow-structure-interactions, computational aerodynamics, Flight/Maritime/Space Sciences, or Aviation science.

Some of your accountabilities will include:

  • Conducting high quality research, including recruitment and supervision of higher degree students
  • Developing and maintaining close engagement with industry and professional bodies, locally and internationally, to inform teaching and research

About you

With a proven record of academic and/or professional achievement within Aerospace Engineering and Aviation, you will be able to demonstrate your expertise in one or more areas: digital twin technologies, computational modelling and simulation, flow-structure-interactions, computational aerodynamics, Flight/Maritime/Space Sciences, or Aviation Science.

We are also looking for the following:

  • Experience in teaching at higher education level resulting in high student satisfaction
  • The ability to undertake high impact research in the designated field resulting in high quality journal articles in recognized international journals
  • The ability to prepare and win competitive research grants and/or research contracts with industry
  • Experience in supervising PhD research students towards successful completion
  • Proven ability to develop high quality teaching and learning resources

Qualifications

Mandatory: PhD in Aerospace Engineering / Aviation or equivalent field.
