The Student Wellbeing Service at the University of Greenwich is looking for experienced Student Wellbeing Services Coordinators (Counselling), to provide professional and responsive counselling service for our students.   An experienced Counsellor, you will bring excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work within our dynamic multidisciplinary team.

You will be able to offer brief and time-limited counselling to students who are experiencing mental health concerns and emotional issues. You will support the development of the counselling service through your contribution within the wider team and lead on projects which aim to foster greater resilience among students. This will include developing and delivering workshops for students which support their emotional wellbeing. Ideally you will also have experience in delivering online counselling support.

The successful candidates will have experience of risk assessment and making referrals to appropriate mental health care services. You will also have experience of providing supervision to trainee Counsellors on placement.

You will be highly motivated, adaptable with the ability to manage a high case load at peak times. You will have a commitment to following professional and ethical principles and guidelines and a commitment to continued professional development, in line with the changing needs of students and the service.

The post-holder will be required to attend Open Day and Student Recruitment events outside of normal office hours, as part of a team rota.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 therefore the successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced Data and Barring Service check.
