Position: Part-time Accounting Instructor
Department: School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPCE)

Summary of Position and Key Responsibilities

The Accounting Instructor vacancy is a Part-time position and requires half day engagement. The Instructor reports to the Coordinator of Khujand Learning Center and works closely with other staff members of UCA

Main Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Teaching Accounting Certificate Programme, preparatory courses for examinations of CAP, ACCA or CFA
  • Organizing and delivering classroom lectures to students
  • Submitting reporting documents (individual plans, examination registers, grade reports) on time
  • Conducting demo lessons for potential students
  • Ensuring high attendance of students in classes, contacting students, and reacting on their needs
  • Ensuring high success rate of students
  • Ensuring safety of equipment and furniture in the classrooms and offices
  • Creating a vibrant teaching atmosphere
  • Participating in developing proposals for corporate courses and programmes
  • Participating in marketing and promotion of SPCE courses and programmes
  • Performing other duties (extra-curricular activities, work on Accounting strategy)
  • Advising student on career issues
  • Maximum of 720 hours of teaching workload per year

Required Qualification and Experience 

  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics;
  • At least having one of the following qualifications: CAP, CIPA, ACCA or CFA qualifications;
  • A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience;
  • Communication Skills: Instructor must be a good communicator as he/she will be on many occasions communicating with parents and also other teaching staff;
  • Instruction Skills: The Instructor will have to explain unfamiliar concepts with authority and concisely so that students can understand;
  • Creativity: Teachers must find ways to involve students into their lessons. Additionally, teachers must work with different learning styles to get the most out of each student.
  • Mode of Teaching: Teachers will need to be able to teach in offline and online modes (through Microsoft Teams, Zoom or other applications) if required
