Applications are invited for two lecturer posts (Teaching focused) and hourly paid Teaching Fellows in the Department of Economics.
1. Lecturer (Teaching Focused)
Full-Time, Fixed-Term, 11 months. There is also a market supplement of £9,000 attached to this role.
Salary in range of £ 43,660 - £51,687 per annum pro rata (including London Allowance)
2. Teaching Fellow
Casual, Variable Hours
Salary in range of £35,931 - £42,456 per annum pro rata (including London Allowance)
Lecturer (Teaching focused)
On a full-time basis, the appointed person will teach 1 – 2 modules (UG and PG level) in econometrics and seminars for other economics modules. The teaching load will be agreed with the Head of Department. The successful applicants will also participate in departmental curriculum design activity and teaching quality enhancement activities, including mentoring teaching fellows. The successful candidates will also be required to supervise undergraduate and MSc projects, and act as Personal and Academic Tutors. There is also the flexibility to be offered this post on a part-time basis. The posts start in September 2021 and end in July 2022.
We aim to appoint 4 – 5 hourly paid Teaching Fellows (0.2 – 0.5 FTE) on a casual contract from September 2021 until end of March 2022. The successful applicant must have teaching experience at undergraduate level and preferably also postgraduate level. It is expected that the post holder will have a PhD or currently be enrolled in a PhD programme. This position is aimed at current PhD students to gain further teaching experience. The successful applicant must be familiar with current research in economics to teach at the frontier of knowledge and must also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Further, the successful applicant should be passionate about teaching and about engaging in pedagogical research and training.
