Education Services welcomes applications from Student Immigration Advisors.
About Education Services
The department’s strategic objectives are to provide a professional and efficient service to the University's Schools in all of these areas. This requires engagement at all levels within the Schools, and close liaison with other central service departments to provide a coherent student experience.
Within Education Services, there is a unit that has two primary functions: to provide appropriate systems, processes and support for the administrative needs and requirements of current students in relation to the management of their academic progression; and to maintain consistent and accurate student records for all current and previous students
About the Role
You will manage a range of initiatives to support the recruitment and studies of international students, including managing overseas visa applications, visa extension applications and in-country transfers under the UK points-based immigration system, a number of international scholarship and loan schemes, as well as general advice and support for international students overseas and while they are at the University.
You will have extensive engagement with staff and students, providing the advice and support they need to ensure a positive student experience.
About You
You will need to demonstrate initiative and work pro-actively to advise and support students through direct advice and work with staff right across the University to provide clear advice and guidance on a range of issues.
You will be degree qualified or equivalent experience and excellent interpersonal skills. A strong customer focus with previous experience of giving information to service users is essential. You will also have, or the ability to develop quickly, knowledge of the UK points-based-immigration system.
In return, the successful applicant will have exciting opportunities for career development in this key position, and to support world leading research and education, joining a supportive team and environment.
Our Values
Our shared, stated values help to define who we are and underpin everything we do: Ambition; Impact; Respect; and Community. Find out more here. We aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together and realise their full potential.
Diversity and Inclusion
Our equal opportunities and diversity monitoring has shown that women and/or minority ethnic groups are currently underrepresented within the university and so we actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from these groups.
Flexible Working
We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and whether a position can be carried out at any of our locations. We commit to exploring the possibilities for each role. Find out more here.
