About the opportunity
The School of Rural Health in Dubbo is in an exciting time of growth and development. From 2022, The University of Sydney will deliver its four-year graduate entry Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program in two streams; a Metropolitan stream based on the University's Camperdown campus in Sydney, and a Dubbo stream based at the School of Rural Health in Dubbo.
The Dubbo stream will admit 24 students each year, giving preference to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander candidates, those of rural origin, and those of lower socio-economic status. The MD curriculum integrates preclinical sciences with clinical sciences, clinical skills, population health, ethics, medical law and professionalism being taught in parallel with preclinical sciences.
Due to this growth and expansion we have a position available for a Marketing and Communications Officer to provide marketing and communications support and advice to the Head of Clinical School (Dubbo/Orange), School Manager (Dubbo/Orange) and other staff involved in the delivery of the Sydney Medical Program in both Dubbo and Orange. The role will be responsible for the design, production and distribution of highly professional promotional material and reports in a variety of media, with a focus on the rural market as well as management of the Marketing Assistant - Rural Programs.
This position is located at Dubbo. Travel between rural and metropolitan sites is a requirement of this position.
Dubbo, NSW is a vibrant regional centre that offers the benefits of space and a relatively laid-back lifestyle with the amenities of a major city. Home of the Wirumdhah people of the Wiradjuri Nation, Dubbo connects and services a broad catchment population of 120, 000 people in the Orana Region and has daily flights to a number of regional and metropolitan centres.
