Associate Professor, Midwifery and Discipline Leader

  • Academic Level D - $146,293 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation

Responsible for strategic leadership of the Discipline in accordance with learning, teaching and research plans including the development of inter-disciplinary and cross collaboration activities. You will represent the discipline internally and externally including industry and professional body collaboration to ensure Discipline activities are recognised both nationally and/or internationally. Management of discipline staff through the performance review process and maintenance of the academic workloads model and compilation of estimated student numbers for resource allocation of learning and teaching activities.

About the role

This position is a strategic appointment which forms part of the University’s priorities to further develop its key research strengths.

You will:

  • make a significant contribution to developing, teaching, coordinating and moderating courses at undergraduate and graduate levels;
  • make an outstanding contribution to research activity;
  • contribute to teaching at all levels;
  • foster interactions with industry, government, and community groups; and
  • plan, lead and support the strategic and operational development of the Discipline.

About you

You will possess substantial University administrative experience, a commitment to and enthusiasm for learning and teaching and a distinguished teaching record. You will also possess a national record of achievement in research and capacity to play a leading role in the School’s research program.

All University positions delivering education and/or services to children must hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
