We are committed to the recruitment and development of skilled and passionate people, who want to make a difference to the world around them. With more than 23,000 students and 1,700 staff across three campuses in the Perth area as well as centres in Singapore and Dubai, Murdoch has an ambitious agenda both locally and internationally.

Murdoch University has embarked on a new initiative to become leaders in accessible education for all. As part of this initiative, Murdoch has redesigned their Access and Inclusion department to reflect the current priority in Universal Design for Learning (UDL). We are seeking a professional who is excited to embrace a new approach in supporting students with disability and the University community.

About the Role

The primary function of this role is to work with academic staff to support the integration of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) across unit and curriculum offerings and promoting a culture of accessibility for all across all course offerings.

For those students whose needs are not met through the UDL initiatives in place, this position will work with students with disability or health conditions to identify and recommend appropriate reasonable adjustments and support academic staff in their implementation.

This exciting new role encompasses both a student facing component and a broader change development initiative across the University. The position will suit someone who enjoys a collaborative proactive approach in both working with students with disability and collaborating with academic colleagues to support the embedding of UDL throughout educational learning at Murdoch University.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A Bachelors degree in Disability or Allied Health with at least 2 years’ experience in accessible learning design or a Bachelors degree in Education with at least 2 years’ experience supporting students with disability
  • Knowledge of universal design for learning (UDL) in both face-to-face and online learning environments
  • Knowledge and professional experience of disability, medical and mental health conditions, their management, and functional implications with ability to apply knowledge to an educational setting.

Please note: The occupant of this position will be required to obtain a Working with Children check in accordance with the University's Employee Background Checks Procedure.

What you’ll get in return

You will be part of a vibrant and talented team of accessibility and equity champions, work in an innovative and lively university community and enjoy the benefits that come with working at Murdoch. Our people enjoy a lively, natural campus and world-class facilities, as well as a range of benefits including:

  • Competitive remuneration
