Applications are invited for appointment as Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the HKU-Pasteur Research Pole of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 504416), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in virology, microbiology, immunology or other medical science disciplines. They should have distinguished academic credentials and a strong track record in the following research areas: a) clinical and molecular virology; b) virus pathogenesis and immune response; and c) immune correlates of protection from infection and vaccination. They should have the capacity and potential of high-quality, impactful research demonstrated by excellent publications, successful grant applications and international collaborative projects. Competence in mentoring early career researchers and research students is essential. We are particularly interested in those investigating the immune response to respiratory viruses at the cellular and/or organismal level.

The appointee is expected to contribute to the established strengths of the School in various public health research programmes related to influenza and coronaviruses. He/She will participate in the planning and delivery of educational programmes; mentor junior research staff; and contribute to administrative, operational and other duties as assigned.  Information about the HKU-Pasteur Research Pole can be obtained at https://www.pasteur.hku.hk.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
