Position overview

ANU has an international reputation for research and education relevant to the health and well-being of the population of Australia, as well as that of the developing world. This is achieved through discovery research, applied research in health service settings, research-led teaching in health and medical sciences, and the translation of research findings into practice and policy. The ANU College of Health and Medicine comprises the Research School of Psychology, the ANU Medical School, the John Curtin School of Medical Research and the Research School of Population Health. These schools work together to deliver world-class research and education across the spectrum of medicine and health-related fields, working in partnership with the health sector at local, national and international levels.

The Medical School is accredited by the Australian Medical Council which sets standards for education, training and assessment in all phases of medical education. Our Medical Education Unit has a central role in ensuring integrity of the admissions processes, and provides academic leadership and administrative support for staff engaged in teaching, and for the students enrolled in our programs. We are committed to indigenous advancement, providing an indigenous admissions pathway, competitive access to a dedicated ‘indigenous stream’ of medical education, and through clinical placements in remote locations. The Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, Medicinae ac Chirurgiae Doctoranda (MChD) rural stream provides access to medical education for students from rural locations, and rural learning experience for all students in the program.

This Clinical Skills Technician is responsible for providing technical/operational and administrative support for teaching activities in the clinical skills area for students of the 4-year Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (MChD) degree. The position combines technical and administrative elements and works under the broad direction of the Senior Clinical Skills Officer. The position is located at the Canberra Hospital Campus of the ANU Medical School.
