We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Occupational Therapy lecturer to join the Occupational Therapy education team in the School of Allied Health Professions and Midwifery.  We would very much welcome applications from you if you have experience in addressing the occupational needs of people living with mental illness, or those experiencing occupational deprivation. We also welcome experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and strong evidence of using occupational therapy to address and improve health and well-being, occupational engagement, and participation.

The team are highly rated by our students in the National Student Survey and are in the top 5 of the Complete University Guide. We offer a range of exciting pre-registration and our new post-graduate programme in Occupational Science. The School of Allied Health Professions and Midwifery have developed a strong portfolio of education provision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Diagnostic Radiography, Paramedic Science and Midwifery with staff contributing to teaching across Nursing and Healthcare leadership and the Physician Associate programmes. 

You should be committed to high quality academic and clinical education and be innovative and creative. You will work collaboratively with staff in the School of Allied Health Professions and Midwifery and across the Faculty of Health Studies, including the service user and carer group and our students to further develop our programmes and develop new business or research opportunities. You will also be involved in student recruitment activities.

In addition to learning and teaching, the University empowers and encourages staff to develop their own research profile and to participate in internationally leading, interdisciplinary research and innovation that will shape and benefit future societies. Our internationally renowned applied health research undertaken in partnership with the NHS is positively impacting health outcomes locally and regionally and contributing to knowledge of international significance. Colleagues from our faculty helped to establish the Born in Bradford cohort study and continue to lead many of its recent developments. The University has invested significantly in high quality research facilities and space such as the Digital Health Enterprise Zone (DHEZ, in collaboration with the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council), and the Wolfson Centre for Applied Health Research (CAHR, in collaboration with the University of Leeds, Bradford Institute for Health Research, and the Wolfson Institute). The latter is supported by high quality new appointments at senior university level many of them in our faculty: Prof Siobhan Reilly, new Director of the Centre for Applied Dementia Studies and lead for Healthy Aging, Prof Rebecca Randell lead for Health Technologies for Quality and Safety, Dr Andy Daly-Smith lead for Healthy Childhood and Physical Activity and deputy lead for the Centre for Applied Research in Education. We have proven additional strengths in Diversity and Inclusion (Prof Udy Archibong) as well as Radiography and Imaging (Prof Beverly Snaith and Prof Maryann Hardy).
