Job Description
The Mechanical Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a research assistant in the area of thermal-fluids. The preferred candidate should have demonstrated experience in the both experimental and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in fluid and heat transfer. The research assistant should be knowledgeable of heat transfer and fluid experimentations, buildup and testing. The candidate is preferred (but not necessary) to be able to synthesize, characterize and apply nano particles for heat transfer applications. The research assistant will work on experimental testing, mathematical modeling and simulation of thermal and heat transfer process. RA should be comfortable carrying experimental studies individually. Additional job responsibilities will include administrative duties as well as maintenance of the lab as deemed necessary by the supervisor. The RA appointment will be for 1 year. Highly motivated candidates with academic background in engineering (mechanical/chemical engineering) or related fields are invited to apply for this position. The package includes a monthly allowance in the range of AED 5,000 – 6,000 depending on the educational qualification and experience
Minimum Qualification
Master/ bachelor degree in Engineering (mechanical or chemical). The minimum educational qualification is bachelor’s if enrolled in Master program in Mechanical Engineering, while preference will be given to candidates with master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

- Skilled in experimental testing of thermal processes
- Skilled of CFD techniques
- Demonstrable willingness to support work in the lab
- Be adaptable and flexible to the continuous changes associated with research demands
- Excellent writing skills.
