We are seeking candidates who can contribute to teaching and research in the field of Organisation, Work & Employment. Experience of working with the Police or Police training, delivering CPD programmes or working in a Distance Learning environment would be an advantage.

Working within our Department of Leadership & HRM, part of the award-winning Newcastle Business School, you will join a team of more than 70 academic staff dedicated to advancing the field of leadership and management.

You will undertake research and scholarly activities contributing to the Faculty’s research profile and development of its next REF submission, together with contributing to consultancy, enterprise, and other income generation and business development activities. The Department’s research activity covers a wide range of areas principally in Public Policy and Public Management, Business Ethics and in Leadership and Organisational Change organised within a number of research interest groups including “Risk, Responsibility Ethics and Governance”, “Global Entrepreneurial Talent Management” and “Public Policy and Public Management (3PM)”. You will contribute to our Knowledge Exchange activities which play a key part in regional development agenda through developments in public management, leadership and ’localism’ in the public sector; public participation and policy and sustainable regional development. The focus of our research is practical and applied, and aims to add value to our organisational partners.

Our programmes in Business Management, Human Resource Management and Leadership are underpinned by world-class research and are professionally recognised by the Chartered Institute for Personnel Development (CIPD), Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and other professional bodies. You will contribute to research informed and technology enabled learning and teaching on our contemporary suites of undergraduate and postgraduate products including our executive education, Degree Apprentice and MBA programmes.

You must have excellent interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to teach effectively on a range of programmes using a variety of approaches to student learning.  You must have (or be exceptionally close to completing) a PhD or DBA in a field relevant to the post ideally coupled with a record of high-quality publications and have clear plans to enhance your research through further publication, funding bids and knowledge exchange.
