Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with extensive expertise in immunology to lead a major research project and to work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI). The project will investigate immune responses against hematological malignancy and requires technical experience in transcriptome profiling, immunological assays, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy and protein chemistry. 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The Research Fellow (RF) will be accountable to the PI and will

  1. Work closely with the PI to design research projects, conduct the experimentation, perform analyses and bioinformatics, and write/present the research outcomes.
  2. Support the PI in lab operations and supervision of the research team as a senior lab member.
  3. Contribute towards grant writing, IRB (ethics) management, lab protocols, safety protocols and compliance to regulations.
  4. Provide support to PI and lab staff in assigned tasks.

Eligibility & Qualifications

The applicant is expected to 

(a)    Hold a PhD degree in the Life Sciences or in Medicine, 
(b)    Have at least four years of prior research experience in Immunology or Hematology;  
(c)    Have authored at least three English publications in peer-reviewed, internationally-recognized scientific journals, and possess excellent communication skills;
(d)    Possess technical experience in transcriptome profiling, immunological assays, flow cytometry, and bioinformatics; 
(e)    Be competent in executing projects independently and to share knowledge and information within a team; 
(f)    Be self-motivated, well-organized, and meticulous with a strong passion for scientific research;
(g)    Be goal-oriented and be able to work toward deadlines. 

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
