UNSW is seeking to employ an Astrophysicist to undertake research and related teaching activities in the School of Science, UNSW Canberra. The Lecturer in Astrophysics will be involved in advancing the School’s international profile by conducting scholarly research, contributing to the supervision of research students, and will be required to teach in a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the School. The appointee Lecturer in Astrophysics will also contribute to the effective functioning of the School by undertaking a range of administrative duties.

Role:                Lecturer in Astrophysics
Salary:              Level B: $ 110,459 - $ 130,215 plus 17% Superannuation    
Term:                  Full Time, 5 years

 About the Successful Applicants

To be successful in this role you will:        

  • Be able to apply new and innovative methods for teaching including the capacity to use current and new technologies for delivery in a flexible learning environment.
  • Have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills appropriate for interacting effectively team members, collaborators and colleagues across the Faculty and University.
  • Demonstrate an emerging ability to successfully supervise Higher Degree Research students.
