The Faculty of Catholic Theology invites applications for a

Full Professorship (W3) of Canon Law,
in Particular Administrative Law, Law of the Teaching Function of the Church, Sacramental Law, Law of Temporal Goods and History of Canon Law
(Chair)

commencing as soon as possible.

The successful candidate is expected to represent the field of Canon Law, in particular administrative law, law of the teaching function of the Church, sacramental law (without matrimonial law), law of temporal goods and history of canon law, in research and teaching in its entire breadth. Further, we expect participation in all degree programs offered by the Faculty of Catholic Theology and in particular by the Klaus-Mörsdorf-Institute of Canon Law. The professorship forms part of the Klaus-Mörsdorf-Institute of Canon Law; its duties include taking over the management of the Institute alternating with the other two chair holders of Canon Law.

Prerequisites for this position are a university degree in Catholic Theology, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification in Catholic Theology or Canon Law, teaching skills at university level, excellent academic achievements and a productive and promising research program. With an excellent record in research and teaching, prospective candidates will have demonstrated international visibility and excellence.
