Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Asst/P Li Hao on deciphering how microbial enzymes and their associated molecules structure the human environments under a project on functional and mechanism-based profiling of human microbiota in health and disease. This project involves deciphering the role of drug metabolism by microbes. 

The main responsibilities of the position include:

  1. Design and perform experiments to investigate the roles of microbial enzymes in human health and disease. The candidate will be expected to execute projects independently.
  2. Scientific writing.
  3. Supervising students.
  4. Presenting research to academic audience and the public.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications / Discipline:
    • Ph.D in Biochemistry or related Life Science fields. 
  • Skills:
    • The following skills are highly preferred:
      1. Carry out LCMS and data analysis independently
      2. Microbiology culture
      3. Molecular Biology techniques related to DNA and RNA identification
      4. Biochemical enzyme assays
      5. Recombinant protein expression
  • Experience:  
    • We are open to new PhD graduates with no prior post-doctoral experience. This position is only available to Singapore citizens or PR, as part of the SGUnited program.
