About Cranfield School of Management

Cranfield School of Management (SOM) is a leading provider of innovative, practical management education focused on the outcomes for learners and organisations. We are a world leader in research and education on leadership and management, delivering outstanding scholarship and excellent teaching through our distinctive academics and their direct engagement with practice.

Our triple-accredited and globally ranked school has supported over 1,500 apprentices since we launched our portfolio in 2017, securing our place as one of the largest Level 7 Apprenticeship providers in the UK. We currently have in excess of 1,000 apprentices across 30 cohorts attending our programmes. Our apprentices have achieved exceptional pass rates, with a first attempt pass rate of 98%, 100% success overall, with over 80% achieving merit/distinction.

Due to our continued growth, we are seeking to expand our apprenticeship Tutor team to maintain an exceptional individually tailored student led provision.

About the Role

Reporting to the Apprenticeship Tutor Team Manager, this challenging role encompasses supporting students and their employers through the Apprenticeship process to success, balancing resources against the demands placed upon the Service.

The Apprenticeship Tutor will be responsible for ensuring each Apprenticeship student is given individually tailored support and guidance to help them to successfully complete their Apprenticeship. You will support each student and their line manager / mentor in translating their academic learning to apply the knowledge, skills, behaviors required by the relevant Apprenticeship standard in the workplace. You will be required to coach and support students across a range of sectors, as well as evaluate and advise on submission of End Point Assessments.  Throughout the student journey you will be required to maintain detailed records to demonstrate their progress.  The role will also be required to sign post learners to and work with departments outside of SOM who are also aligned to the Apprenticeship activity within the University.

About You

This role would suit an individual with exceptional coaching skills, excellent communications skills, the ability to build and sustain relationships across a diverse organisation and with external stakeholders and the ability to set and meet deadlines. A good understanding of the higher education sector, management education and university administration more broadly will serve you well in this role.

You will ideally be degree qualified or possess equivalent experience in business, coaching or similar subject. Previous experience of evaluating within a work-based learning programme or apprenticeship scheme or experience of tutoring/coaching at a Management Level in a work-based learning environment will be an advantage.

Our Values

Our shared, stated values help to define who we are and underpin everything we do: Ambition; Impact; Respect; and Community. Find out more here. We aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together and realise their full potential.

Diversity and Inclusion

Our equal opportunities and diversity monitoring has shown that women and minority ethnic groups are currently underrepresented within the university and so we actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from these groups.

Flexible Working

We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking and commit to exploring the possibilities for each role. Find out more here.
