Applications are invited for the post of Research Project Administrator for the AHRC-funded Impact and Engagement project ‘Finding Middlemarch in Coventry 2021’.

Following the success of previous research by the Project Principal Investigator Prof. Ruth Livesey and Co-Investigator Prof. Redell Olsen, this project will involve collaboration with a range of heritage and cultural organisations in the Midlands and principal partner Dash Arts to engage diverse audiences in Coventry with the artistic work of George Eliot. This key appointment will be crucial to the successful planning and delivery of a number of events and initiatives during Coventry’s year as City of Culture in 2021-22. The post-holder will work with the two project leads in the English Department at Royal Holloway, with support from our School Directors of Research, Impact, and External Engagement, and a number of stakeholders in the Midlands and elsewhere.

You will have a sound knowledge of practice-based research and/or public engagement and impact in the arts and humanities, excellent planning and administration skills and confidence in engaging and communicating complex ideas to diverse stakeholders. You will have a track record of successful administrative delivery of collaborative projects in the arts or heritage sectors and curatorial and / or promotional experience of working with artistic practitioners in relation to galleries, festivals, theatre or other arts organisations. Experience in community engagement and/or archives and museum education is highly desirable.

In return we offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package including generous annual leave and training and development opportunities. The post is flexible in terms of location with some in person project meetings on campus in Egham, Surrey, and Central London as well as activities in Coventry and Warwickshire.
