Research Assistant, Quantitative Social-Behavioural Data Analysis

Job Description

The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking a research assistant for the various projects of quantitative social- behavioural health and social network analysis in vulnerable populations.

The successful applicant will have a strong quantitative social science background (e.g., quantitative psychology, statistics, quantitative sociology, or behavioural epidemiology), show good initiative in troubleshooting tasks and have excellent communication skills. The RA will play an important role in statistical data analysis and co-authoring papers.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct statistical data analysis of various quantitative research projects
  • Assist the PI to prepare & conduct the quantitative research
  • Oversee quantitative data collection and quality assurance
  • Assist in writing papers and grant reports (RA will have opportunities to present the study at conferences and be involved as a co-author in publications)
  • Assist the Principal Investigator with other day-to-day tasks

Qualifications

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in social sciences (quantitative psychology, sociology, statistics, public health, etc). Master’s degree in the field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of statistical software (SPSS, STATA, SAS, or R)
  • Knowledge of social network analysis (UNICET, etc.) is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, independent learner and detail oriented.
  • Good project management skill
  • Fluency in English and good writing skills are essential.
