Job Description

The Teaching & Learning Centre is seeking a Research Associate with expertise in quantitative research methods. The candidate will work with other researchers to evaluate the efficacy of an adaptive-enabled learning system prototype developed in-house for students in SUSS. The project is scheduled to run from 1 Jul 2021 to 30 Dec 2022.

Job Scope

1. Curate research publications and do literature review
2. Write research papers to communicate findings
3. Collect, process and analyse data, and make suitable recommendations
4. Prepare, maintain and provide ready access to data and reports (e.g., reports for funding agency)
5. Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with research participants as necessary (e.g., to collect vouchers) and replying to emails
6. Prepare financial reimbursements for participants
7. Manage and attend project-related meetings
8. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the PI           

Job Requirements

Qualification/ Experience Required

• Experience using robust research methods, data preparation/processing/management, and advanced analytics to understand relationships among variables (e.g., linear and logistic regression, structural equation modelling, predictive modelling) with a high level of independence
• Experience with interpreting the meaning of data/results of analyses and translating/applying findings into solutions for research questions
• Experience with communicating research to various audiences (e.g., publications, presentations)
• Able to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
• Able to maintain a high level of efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Able to solve complex problems in creative ways
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications (e.g., in Education, Educational Sciences, Social Sciences)
