Salary: Level C  $131,739 - $151,900 p.a. or Level D $158,624 - $174,754 p.a. plus 17% superannuation. Level of appointment is subject to the appointee’s qualifications and experience.

About the role

The Faculty of Fine Arts and Music is seeking for an outstanding and well-respected creative arts therapy professional and experienced academic with the vision and capacity to shape and build the teaching, learning and research with the Victorian College of the Arts. In this role you will contribute to the delivery of lectures and tutorials in the field of Creative Arts Therapy, through a blend of online and face to face contexts. You will also be expected to assist with the development and implementation for online assessments of scholarly work and online/face to face curriculum.

This is a full-time, fixed term position for 3 years.

About you

You will have a doctoral qualification (or equivalent experience) in Creative Arts Therapy, an established reputation as a creative arts therapist and researcher and significant teaching experience in higher education. With a primary focus on the Master of Creative Arts Therapy but an interest in dance movement and drama therapy teaching and research more broadly, you will possess expertise in the development, coordination and teaching of creative arts therapy content. You will also maintain an active research profile and be able to attract high quality students into the Creative Arts Therapy Coursework and PhD programs.


Based in the beautiful Southbank Campus of The University of Melbourne, you will work nestled amongst Melbourne’s major arts and cultural organisations and venues. You will have the convenience of great transport links to the rest of the city with the serenity of the Botanical Gardens close by.
