Applications are invited for the above post in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Department. The department delivers an undergraduate programme that is jointly accredited across the Nottingham campuses in the United Kingdom, Malaysia and China. It is expected that the successful candidate will support excellence in teaching in the Department and across the three campuses, while developing an internationally recognised research programme.

Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent and post-doctoral academic research experience in a field related to electrical and electronic engineering. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in communications or photonics technologies; although excellent candidates in any research area with the ability to teach across a range of topics in our undergraduate curriculum will be considered. It is required that the candidate has strong academic experience and evidence of strong track record in his or her area of research. The appointment will be offered to the best qualified candidate based on their track record relative to their experience with the position being offered at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, participate in assessing and examining students, supervise PhD students, perform high quality research and obtain external research grants. The candidate is expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clarity on complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers, using high level skills and a range of media. The role holder should independently plan and implement general research programme and direction, and devise applications for new research funding as part of the university strategy and as relevant to the EEE Department.

Salary will be within the range of RMB 411,197 to RMB 688,900 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including employment support allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for a period of up to 5 years with effect from August 2021 or thereafter as soon as possible. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement, subject to revised terms and conditions.
