Job Purpose

Leveraging the relevant audience, market and competitor insights, the primary purpose of this role is to drive a compelling end-to-end customer journey that maximises the customer experience - and delivers against challenging commercial and brand objectives.
Building a rich understanding of our different audience segments, products and sectors will be critical to success in this role, as will be effective collaboration with key stakeholders internally, across sales, marketing and the wider business, and externally, with key partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the customer journey plan:
    • Deep understanding of the motivations and barriers for our different audience segments, in relation to our brand and commercial objectives.
    • Aligning product and pricing strategy with audience wants and needs
  • Create the high-level messaging plan and more detailed personalisation strategy:
    • Utilise insights from the available sources (including data, front-facing colleagues and channel performance) to proactively drive enhanced communications that deliver better customer experiences and stronger commercial results
    • Maximise the personalisation opportunity using the customer data platforms such as Salesforce's Interaction Studio to increase relevancy
  • Be the customer ‘champion'
    • Utilise available resources to build deep knowledge of target audience segments
    • Understand the competitor context through ongoing competitor analysis and benchmarking
    • Regularly share insights with the wider team responsible for brand and channel performance
  • Be the product expert
    • Deep knowledge of our product range and how products should be presented to our different audience segments for maximum engagement
    • With a focus on how products should be developed to meet changing needs
  • Produce the messaging and communications briefs
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders – internal and external

Candidate Criteria


The successful candidate will be analytical, commercially-minded and able to evidence significant experience and achievements in the following areas:

  • Customer journey planning for complex products/services, ideally in the B2B sector
  • Message planning within customer data platforms, such as Salesforce's Interaction Studio
  • Leveraging data insights to improve the performance of marketing communications
  • Developing product and service propositions
  • Creating compelling marketing briefs
  • Briefing and coordination of marketing communications
  • Relationship management, stakeholder engagement
  • Multi-tasking – well organised
  • Communication – both verbal and written
  • Working well independently as well as part of a team


Experience of working with B2B brands within the education & training sector would be ideal
