The Southern Universities Network (SUN) comprises a number of higher education providers, further education (FE) colleges, schools, and other organisations in Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. It is part of the Uni Connect programme; funded by the Office for Students, Uni Connect aims to reduce the gap in higher education participation between the most and least represented groups.
This post will see the successful candidate based at University of Southampton, supporting the wider SUN team with all aspects of the financial processing involved with the delivery of the Uni Connect Programme. Key aspects of the role will be to process invoices, assist with the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting in line with the Office for Student’s requirements.
The successful candidate will be customer focused, flexible in their approach and work closely with the Head of SUN, the SUN Project Manager and the finance team at the University of Southampton, with skill level equivalent to achievement of HNC, A-Level, NVQ3 with proven work experience acquired in relevant roles and job-related training.
They should have previous experience in an administration, bookkeeping or accounting role and have knowledge and understanding of financial procedures and controls.
They should be able to prioritise their workload, be self-motivated and have excellent team working and communication skills.
This is a part time position fixed term until 31/07/2022 (0.6 FTE) in which we can offer some flexibility around working days and hours. In the first instance this will be based as home-working but with the ability to attend core meetings on the University campus as required.
