Associate Professor/Head of Subject in Cybersecurity and Networks - Permanent - Full Time

Who we are

It's an exciting time to join us! We are an ambitious university, operating at the leading edge of our academic disciplines in research, pedagogy and  professional practice. We are looking for passionate and ambitious academic staff to deliver innovative, research-led teaching programmes.  Our School of Computing is home to 70 academics, 1400 students.

The role

Our Cybersecurity provision continues to grow with our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes achieving NCSC accreditation. Along with this, we have created significant impact from our research, with three highly successful Cybersecurity spin-outs (ZoneFox, Symphonic and Cyan Forensics).  As an Associate Professor you will undertake the role of Head of Subject in our growing Cybersecurity and Networks subject group. You will lead and influence development and delivery of research and teaching activity across one or more of the following areas: Penetration Testing, Incident Response, Digital Forensics, Cryptography, Network Security, IoT Security, Networking, Software Security, Blockchain, Hardware Security, Operating Systems, Software Defined Networks, Distributed Systems, Malware, Cybersecurity Risk, Law and Ethics, and Cloud Security.

Our ideal candidate must demonstrate enthusiasm for working with industry and leadership skills in a relevant domain. You will develop strong links to industry, with an aim to developing your own interests and influence in related emerging areas. In this role, you will be expected to contribute to research as a member of one of our research centres.

Benefits we offer

Salary: Grade 7

GBP 51,034 - GBP 59,135  per annum
