Job description

We are recruiting for a Research Assistant to join the Research Group led by Prof Ryan Donnelly in the School of Pharmacy. The Research Assist will assist the research team to develop and characterised hydrogel-forming microneedle delivery systems.

The main duties of the post will include:

  • Design, develop, prepare and fully evaluate hydrogel-forming microneedles.
  • Design, develop and refine experimental apparatus and analytical methods in order to obtain reliable data.
  • Carry out in vivo animal experiments, analyses, critical evaluations, and interpretations using appropriate methodologies and techniques. Such techniques will include high performance liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, ultraviolet and fluorescence spectroscopy.

The successful candidates must have:

  • Hold a degree in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification
  • At least 1 years recent relevant research experience to include, recent, relevant, experience in pharmaceutical analysis, including HPLC
  • Experience of design and manufacture of hydrogel-forming microneedles
  • Previous experience working on a research project funded by an industrial partner.
