Executive Officer to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement)

The External Engagement Portfolio, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement), is responsible for the University’s broad engagement activities and it brings together various business units from across the University, including Indigenous Engagement, Advancement & Alumni, Future Students (inclusive of international admissions), Marketing and Communications and Global Engagement and Entrepreneurship. The portfolio works closely with the research and academic portfolios, particularly for all aspects of government, research and industry relations as well as the University’s entrepreneurial and innovation activities.

The Portfolio also has executive oversight of the UQ College through UQC Board, which reports to UQ Holdings Board.

About This Opportunity

The Executive Officer provides timely, professional and high-level policy, project and administrative support to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement).

The position is instrumental in the preparation of well-written reports and persuasive proposals for broad audiences, including internal colleagues, government and industry partners.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to provide high level administrative support, strategic management advice, and contribute to the work of a senior Executive within a large and complex organisation.

We are seeking a strong communicator with the ability to liaise, work constructively as part of a team, consult and negotiate with a diverse group of people, and consistently maintain a customer-focused approach.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, continuing position at Professional level HEW 9.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $117,548 - $124,391 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $137,532 - $145,537.
