Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant for “Role of Primary Care Networks in Diabetes Care Delivery in the Division of Family Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Appointment will be made on a contract basis.

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to ensure the successful timely completion of the research on time. The RA’s principal role will be to work in general practices such as project management, recruitment, data collection, data entry and analysis. The RA may be required to liaise with personnel from partnering institutions in the course of his/her work.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Recruit patients, collect their personal data and maintain a database for the research project;
  2. When needed, conduct focus group interviews with the patients. Record and archive these findings for analysis purposes.
  3. Conduct literature searches, using SPSS/STATA/R to enter data, and analyse data and maintain trial database, as well as assist in preparing both progress and final reports of the project
  4. Process payments to patients and track budget utilisation.
  5. Provide administrative and secretarial support to the project, such as organising regular meetings for the research team and collaborators from study sites;
  6. Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures; 
  7. Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.

Qualifications

The applicant should:

  1. Have a Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, nursing or any other related fields, preferably with some experience in recruiting patients for research projects;
  2. Possess strong interpersonal skills and proficient in English and Mandarin.
  3. Have basic knowledge MS Office applications
  4. Preferably have some experience in data collection and research administration

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
